Introduced into service in 1990, the M1A1 HC has been actively utilized by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps in various military conflicts, including operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. A distinctive feature of the tank is its improved armor, including depleted uranium inserts in the turret, enhancing protection against cumulative and sub-caliber projectiles.
