Xbox Game Streaming App (Preview)

1. Register for Project xCloud (Preview)
You will need a Microsoft account to register. If you don’t have one, you can create an account for free during registration.

2. We’ll email you with next steps
If you are chosen to begin the technical preview, we will send you an acceptance email with next steps, though it may take a few months for you to hear back. We will only be accepting a limited number of participants in the initial test, but will admit new players throughout the year.

3. Get the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) app
Once you get accepted, install the app to your mobile device, then go to the Project xCloud section of the app and log in with the account you used to register for the preview.

4. Pair your Xbox Wireless Controller
Follow the steps in the app to pair your Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth and mobile device. Optionally, you can choose to clip the controller to your phone.

5. Go play and share your feedback with us
Select any game in the cloud library and start playing on your mobile device. Provide feedback in the app to shape the future of game streaming and join the conversation on Reddit.

With Project xCloud (Preview) players can play over 50 Xbox games on their mobile phone or tablet directly from the cloud with the Project xCloud (Preview), including favorites such as Devil May Cry 5, Tekken 7, Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, and many more — no waiting for downloads.
Both programs allow players to stream Xbox games to their mobile device. The programs differ based on the types of games you can play and hardware needed.
Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) requires an Xbox One console with games installed, either owned games or Xbox Game Pass titles for Xbox Game Pass members. Players using Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) can stream Xbox One games installed on their console to their mobile device.
Project xCloud (Preview) streams games directly from the cloud to a player’s mobile device and does not require an Xbox console. Players can quickly stream Xbox favorites such as Gears 5 and Sea of Thieves - no downloads required.
In order to participate in Project xCloud (Preview), you will need a compatible mobile device (phone or tablet) AND a supported controller with Bluetooth.
Compatible mobile devices:
Project xCloud (Preview) requires mobile devices running Android version 6.0 or greater, as well as Bluetooth version 4.0 – please check your device settings if you are unsure.
Compatible Xbox controllers:
Please note, not all Xbox controllers are Bluetooth capable. Please refer to this support article if you are unsure if your controller has this capability.
Project xCloud (Preview) will work over either a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection that supports 10Mbps-down, similar to streaming video. If you are using Wi-Fi, we recommend using a 5Ghz connection.
Please note mobile data charges or ISP fees may apply. Please refer to your internet or mobile data provider if you have questions regarding your connection.
At this time we are limiting Project xCloud (Preview) to the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea.
It will be a multi-year journey to deliver this technology to gamers around the world at the quality we want to meet, so we will be adding more regional availability as we learn more and create a great game streaming experience.
During the preview, we will be starting small with a very limited number of spots available in our first phase and slowly increasing the number of accepted users throughout the year. Due to the large volume of applications, not all players can be accepted into the preview. You may not receive an invitation for many months (or at all) during the Project xCloud (Preview).
