Built in 1965, 47484 “Isambard Kingdom Brunel” was one of over 500 “Brush Type 4s” in British Rail service and spent much of its working years on BR’s Western Region. In accordance with the 150th anniversary of the Great Western Railway in ‘85, a striking coat of GWR green was applied onto 484, and it was often used for special duties. Despite gaining a following, it hasn’t worked a train since 2000, rusting away in storage.
