Gateway Connection
Technical SupportA gateway connection is much like a router connection in that it allows both your PC and your Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system to access the Internet at the same time. However, gateways—which integrate a high-speed Internet modem with a router—simplify the setup process for your home network while potentially saving you money, since you don't have to buy a router if your Internet service provider (ISP) issued you a gateway. For Xbox Live play, you'll need to use a gateway that works with Xbox Live, of course. If you're buying a gateway, make sure it's one that's approved by your ISP.
To make a gateway connection to Xbox Live:
