You have the opportunity to opt in or out of getting more information from Microsoft and its business partners. This is an important opportunity. If you opt in, you'll receive regular communications from Xbox Live and others about new games, new content downloads, tournaments, contests, events, sweepstakes, and more. All you need is a valid e-mail address!
You can set information-sharing preferences while you're creating your Xbox Live membership.
From any area of the Xbox Dashboard, select your gamer profile.
From the Gamer Profile screen, select Edit Gamer Profile, Privacy Settings.
Note
Child profiles do not display an option for Privacy Settings, as privacy options for child profiles are managed from the Family Settings area of the Xbox Dashboard. See Family Settings for more information.
Select Xbox Marketing, then choose an option:
Select Opt In if you want insider information, including news on games, latest releases, downloadable demos, trailers, and other rewards and promotional offers.
Select Opt Out if you do not want to be contacted regarding news on games, latest releases, downloadable demos, trailers, and other rewards and promotional offers.
From the Privacy Settings screen, select Partner Marketing, then choose an option:
Select Opt In if you would like to share your information with our third-party partners (like game publishers) so they can communicate with you about their products.
Select Opt Out if you do not want to share your information with our third-party partners.
