Drop the Rocket Launcher, Put the Pedal to Metal

In a perfect world—one in which you were the center of the universe—all your friends would be hanging out on your XboxLive® Friends List just waiting for you to host a game and bring meaning to their lives. In reality of course, if your friends are online, they're more likely to be blowing up Mechs, shooting hoops, or doing some reconnaissance.

Unreal Championship Cross Game UI

One of the cool things about Xbox Live is that not only can you see if your friends are online, but you can see what they're playing. Cooler yet is your ability to invite friends to play with you—even if they're playing something else. Say your buddy Spleenex is playing NBA LIVE 2005, but you really want him to come join you in MechAssault® 2: Lone Wolf. You don't have to wait around until he hits that last free throw. Send him a game invite right now!

Unreal Chamionship Cross Game Invite UI

Here's how it works. You see his Gamertag on your Friends list. It says he's playing Unreal Championship. You select his 'tag and hit Send Invite. Back in UC land, Spleenex gets a notice that he's received a game invite. He selects the invite, sees your 'tag and which game you want him to play, and either accepts or declines. (Of course he'll accept if he knows what's good for him.) Spleenex swaps his UC disc for Moto, and you're ready to go.

What works with Spleenex and MotoGP works the same with DiaperBaby and Ghost Recon, PhlegmNugget and NFL Fever 2003, and every other gamer and Xbox Livegame. So stop waiting around, and start sending those cross-game invites!
