Member Services Update

A few things in this world are certain: death and taxes come to mind. A third example—but a fun one—is the Member Service Update. It’s part of your subscription to Xbox Live®, and you’ll find that bad boy in your inbox once a month like clockwork. Don’t try to stop it, don’t try to deny it, the MSU will come for you!

So what is it? It’s an update that lets our Xbox Live subscribers know all about what’s going on with the service. When new features or downloads are available, you’ll get the inside scoop. When cool events are happening, like Play to Win Sweepstakes, star-studded tournaments, and Play the Band, you’ll know about ‘em. What do you have to do to get this good stuff? Not a thing, baby. All the cool kids—uh, Xbox Live subscribers—get it!

Opt in!

The MSU will find you wherever you are, but you'll get a lot of other cool things if you’ve opted in to be contacted by Microsoft. For example, if you want to get the Newsflash updates, hot-off-the-press-release information from our publishers, and the “down low” on tournaments, you’ve gotta opt in. Once you do, you'll get the details on how to win a sweet trip to New York, New Orleans, or the south of France! No need to search for the info; we deliver it right to your inbox! Here’s how to opt in:

1. From the Xbox Dashboard, select Xbox Live.
2. Select Account Management.
3. Select Billing.
4. Select your account and enter the last four digits of the credit card number used for that account.
5. Select Information Sharing.
6. For Microsoft and our partners, choose Yes.

Note that this may take a few weeks to get updated in our database, so the sooner you opt in, the better.
