Renewing Your Xbox Live Account

If you have an active annual or monthly Xbox Live® subscription, you can instantly renew it by entering a new subscription code at any time.

For instance, if you’ve already subscribed to Xbox Live and then receive another 12-month subscription card or a second Xbox Live Starter Kit, you can use the included code to extend your current subscription, without starting a new account. You don’t have to cancel your old account, you don’t pick a new Gamertag, and you don’t need to let your subscription automatically renew.

The best part is it’s simple to do. From the Xbox Live Dashboard:

1. Go to Account Management.
2. Select Subscription.
3. Select Modify.
4. Enter the last four digits of the credit card you used to sign up for Xbox Live.
5. Select Subscription Code.
6. Enter your new subscription code.

That’s it! There’s no need to call Xbox Live support to cancel your original subscription because your account will use the new code as soon as you enter it—with your Gamertag, Friends List, and all your stats intact!

Note: If you modify a monthly or annual subscription using a subscription code, you will receive a refund for the unused portion of the monthly or annual subscription that you’ve paid for. However, if your current subscription is from a subscription code, the second subscription won’t become active until your current subscription is over, and there is no refund.
