Be mindful of the following before you start using your Xbox 360 console. Please make sure to read the Set-up manual that came with your console.
1. You can prevent potential damages to your console and media (game/DVD/CD) by adhering to the following: There is a warning sticker pasted over the disc tray and the eject button. Please make sure to remove this warning sticker before trying to eject the drive for the first time. The tray will not properly eject if the warning sticker is not removed.
The DVD drive in the Xbox 360 is designed to spin at 12x (maximum speed). You can prevent damage and scratches to your media by:
When a disc is in the tray (game/DVD/CD), do not tilt your console to change orientation, or move the console in any way. Remove all media before moving the console.
Make sure the console is sitting on even ground. When a disc is in the tray (game/DVD/CD), make sure the console does not tilt, shake, or move in any way.
When the console is standing vertically, 8cm discs cannot be used. When using 8cm media (single CDs), make sure the console is sitting flat or horizontally.
Oddly shaped media (square or star for example) is not compatible with the Xbox 360 console.
2. Regarding the Warranty Statement: The state of the Microsoft seal beneath the faceplate is used to determine if the console is tampered. When this seal is breached, Microsoft deems the console as tampered. The warranty will be voided, and the console will not be admitted for servicing.
