Xbox Live Compatible Logo

What’s the deal with the new "Xbox Live Compatible" logo?
How is it different from the old "Xbox Compatible" logo?
Has my ISP’s status changed?
Can I still use a router with the old logo on XboxLive?

Microsoft has added an additional logo to its Xbox compatibility program. This logo (the Xbox Live Compatible logo) will be used for devices and services that allow users to connect to Xbox Live. That means you’ll see the XboxLive compatible logo on things like the high-speed ISP Web pages, routers, wireless bridges, and so on.

The old "Xbox Compatible" logo will still be used for any Xbox peripheral that is not associated with connecting to XboxLive. This means you’ll see the old logo on things like game controllers, memory units, and so on.

Our Xbox Live partners are now using the new logo. However, as our partners begin to roll out new products with the new logo, you’ll probably see them side-by-side with existing products using the old logo. For example, you may see one router on store shelves with the "Xbox LiveCompatible" label and another with the "Xbox Compatible" label. Or, you may see an Internet service provider's Web site with the new logo and a promotional flyer from that provider with the old logo. That’s all OK. Any hardware or provider using the old logo is compatible with XboxLive. Eventually, all devices and services that allow a user to connect to Xbox Live will sport the new logo. Happy gaming!
