Xbox 360 To Launch In Singapore On 2 March 2006

xbox360Console to launch with a killer lineup of up to 15 games including hot favorites from Microsoft Game Studios

The storm of excitement scales to new heights as Microsoft today announced the launch date for its hotly anticipated Xbox 360™, next generation video game and entertainment system from Microsoft Corp.

“The future of gaming is coming. On 2 March 2006 consumers from Singapore will wake up to a new world of digital entertainment as Xbox 360 delivers sheer power, graphically stunning games, rich online gaming capabilities, and features for enjoying music, movies and photos. Xbox 360 delivers high definition gaming and entertainment experiences that simply can’t be matched,” said Tony Boatman, SEA group marketing manager of the Entertainment & Devices Division at Microsoft.

The console will launch with an unbeatable portfolio of up to 15 fun-packed titles that will reset the boundaries of console gaming.

 “Consumers will be blown away by the depth and breadth of games available on Xbox 360. Be they fighting games from Japan, role playing games, action strategy games and even more casual games such as mahjong, Xbox 360 has it covered,” he added.

First out of the gates on Day One, is the latest installment from Japan’s ever popular Dead or Alive®fighting series from Tecmo. “Dead or Alive 4”will once again raise the bar in both online and offline fighting. By utilizing the advanced technology of Xbox 360, “Dead or Alive 4” redefines 3-D high definition graphics as the attention to detail is astounding from each strand of the character’s hair to each cherry blossom falling from the sky.

Other key games available at launch include award-winning, marquee titles from Microsoft Game Studios – translated and localized for Singapore. In “Perfect Dark Zero™”, consumers will experience the origins of Joanna Dark, one of the most lethal Special Agents ever in this prequel to the hugely popular and critically acclaimed “Perfect Dark®”; In“Project Gotham Racing® 3”, gamers can create the ultimate roster of the hottest supercars in existence in this latest entry in the multi award-winning “Project Gotham Racing” franchise; In “Kameo: Elements of Power” gamers of all ages and skill levels will be able to enjoy this magical and epic journey full of intense combat, magnificent exploration, and innovative morph-into-warrior action.

        “Huxley” by Korea’s Webzen will deliver unique role-playing gameaction; “Ninety-Nine Nights” by Phantagram and Q Entertainment also from Korea will ramp up strategic battlefield action; while “Mahjong Online” by Taiwan’s TWP Corporation will introduce a new generation of gamers to the Xbox 360 platform. 

         Popular franchises from global publishers will complete the line up with titles like “Call of Duty 2” (Activision), “FIFA 06: Road to World Cup” (Electronic Arts), “NBA Live 2006” (Electronic Arts), and “Need For Speed: Most Wanted” (Electronic Arts).
