Singapore Xbox launches in-store today

The wait for Singaporean gamers is finally over. The Microsoft© Xbox™ video game system launches in-store today, and the reaction from the local consumer has been overwhelming as pre-launch orders and the number of people queuing to purchase at the launch event last night indicate that the Xbox will enjoy a good launch in Singapore.

Last night's launch event saw a crowd of over 5,000 gamers descend on the Zouk carpark for an exclusive preview of what is expected from Xbox. The event was seen as a huge success, the first ever video game system launch in Singapore history. And with over 30 authorised retail outlets starting sales today, an attractive retail launch promotion (see below), and more than 50 game titles releasing in the next two months, the lead-in to Christmas couldn't be more ideal for what has been dubbed "the most powerful gaming console ever."

Xbox will be on sale at an estimated retail price of S$388 (note that actual retail prices may vary). For those who purchase Xbox from now until end of December, they will enjoy a special retail launch promotion of a free Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit when they purchase the Xbox video game system and one Microsoft Xbox game (either Blinx or Project Gotham Racing) from any of the authorized retailers.
