View Pictures with Xbox 360

With Xbox 360™ you can view JPEG image files stored on recordable media (CD or DVD), from a connected portable device (camera, audio player, or USB flash drive), or from a connected computer (either a Windows XP–based PC or Windows Media Center–based PC).

To view JPEG image files:

1. Turn on your Xbox 360 console with no disc in the tray and go the Media area of the Xbox Dashboard.
2. Select Pictures.
3. Choose a source from which to view image files. Depending on your media and your connected devices, choices can include:
   • Computer
   • Digital Camera
   • Current Disc
   • Portable Device
4. Select a single image or select Play Slideshow to cycle through all images contained on your selected source.
   
   For slideshows, use your controller's left stick (LS) to access these options:
   • Pause/Play
   • Go to Previous Image
   • Stop
   • Go to Next Image
   • Toggle Shuffle On/Off
   • Toggle Repeat On/Off
   • Rotate Image Clockwise
   • Rotate Image Counter-Clockwise
   
   
   When viewing a single picture, you can use your controller's left stick (LS) to advance to the next image, page back to the previous image (as long as you're not viewing the first image in the directory), and rotate an image clockwise or counterclockwise.

You can also select a single JPEG image file to serve as an opaque background in the Xbox Dashboard.

To set JPEG image file as your Xbox Dashboard background:

1. Go to Media and select Pictures.
2. Select a source for the image you want to use. Options can include:
   • Computer
   • Digital Camera
   • Current Disc
   • Portable Device
3. Highlight the image you want. Instead of selecting the image (A), press X (Apply as Background). The image will then appear as the background each area of the Xbox Dashboard.
