Xbox 360® and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America are teaming up to host our first National Family Fitness Day on May 12, 2008. The day is designed to promote awareness of the importance of being active, keeping healthy, and having fun together as a family. To help encourage families to get involved, supermodel and health guru Christie Brinkley, and health expert Dr. Carlon Colker will be commencing activities at the Harlem Boys and Girls Club chapter in New York. Participating Boys and Girls Clubs around the nation, including chapters in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, and Seattle will be competing to see who can get the most kids playing Konami Digital Entertainment's Dance Dance Revolution® UNIVERSE 2 on the day in order to see how many calories we can burn off as a nation.
Noted supermodel Christie Brinkley is a mother of three, has appeared on over 500 magazine covers, and has written the best-selling book Christie Brinkley's Outdoor Beauty and Fitness Guide. Christie notes, "I'm teaming up with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Xbox 360 on the first-ever National Family Fitness Day in order to help urge families to get up and get active.
