Scissor Sisters groovin’ to Xbox Soundtracks
Xbox Soundtracks is all about scoring your own music to accompany Xbox 360 game trailers. Scissor Sisters got the glitter ball rolling with an exclusive performance of “She’s My Man” during the Xbox Big Day Out festival in Val D’Isère. Apparently when the guys saw “Halo Wars” they immediately thought ‘industrial electro-house’ – all dirty beats and distorted vocals. “Babydaddy and I are massive gamers so it was a great experience to be able to create a remix of our song to the Halo Wars game,” said Scissor Sisters front-man Jake Spears. “I’m really looking forward to seeing some of the other tracks people create.”
The big question now is: how do the games that you enjoy playing, or even just watching others play, inspire you to think on musical terms? If your mind is already racing, and you can feel the tunes flowing into your fingers, Xbox Soundtracks is your stage. From 1 May 2007 you’ll be able to download game trailers from xbox.com, add your own music, and then upload the finished article back to the site for appreciation. Everyone logging on to xbox.com gets to vote on your creation, and the winners will get time in a Universal Music studio to record their music with a pro production team. While you’re busy composing, imagining your name up there in lights, there will be more exclusive tracks revealed on xbox.com from world famous outfits who’ve all been inspired by the drama and realism of Xbox 360 gaming! |
