While some of these features may be familiar to owners of original Xbox video game systems, even the most experienced gamers have never seen anything quite like this. Sign in to Xbox LIVE in the Marketplace area of the Xbox Dashboard, where you can do the following: - See must-have content and hot promotions at Spotlight.
- Keep up with the latest offerings by browsing New Arrivals.
- Acquire games and game-related items in Game Store.
- Download movies, TV shows, trailers, short films, and more from Video Store.
- Check out new games with Game Demos.
- Get new content or update your membership with prepaid codes by selecting Redeem Code.
- View a list of current and pending downloads in Active Downloads.
- Manage your Xbox LIVE account under Account Management.
Tip Press Y on your controller to quickly jump to the Xbox LIVE Marketplace home page from wherever you are browsing inside Marketplace.
You need games, and Game Store has got games, from first generation to next generation. Just sign in to Xbox LIVE in the Marketplace area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Game Store. - All Games, from A to Z.
- Xbox LIVE Arcade is the place to find a variety of games for your Xbox console. Explore the Xbox LIVE Arcade to find challenging puzzle games, family board and card games, retro arcade favorites, and more.
- Xbox Originals are original Xbox games that can be downloaded and played on your Xbox 360. See what you might have missed the first time around.
- Game Demos features playable demos of some of the most popular and eagerly anticipated Xbox 360 games.
- Themes and Gamer Pictures offers various game-related items, including themes for your Xbox Dashboard and custom gamer pictures to enhance your Xbox LIVE persona.
- Game Add-Ons includes downloadable in-game content that expands your experience of your favorite games.
- Game Videos showcases clips and previews of game titles and offers game tips and support.
- Played Games tracks games you've been playing on your Xbox 360 console.
- Genres lists games by category, from Action to Xbox Originals.
For a quick way to get to movie, TV show, and video downloads, go to the Marketplace area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Video Store. Choose one of the following: - Movies: Download full-length motion pictures, trailers, and related content.
- TV Shows: Download TV series and individual shows.
- Music Videos: Download the latest music videos from popular artists.
- Game Videos: Get game trailers, videos from the gaming community, and game tips and support.
- Shorts: Check out short features, promos, and other videos.
To download content from Video Store - Select the movie, TV show, or video you want to download.
Note If you can't purchase and download a particular title in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, it may be that title is restricted by region. Some content is unavailable in some regions.
- To see a short clip before downloading, select Preview. To view a list of cast and crew, select Credits.
- Select the resolution you want, Standard Definition or High Definition. Availability and cost will vary.
- Review the cost and terms of the download, then click Confirm Download to add it to your active downloads.
Important Video content is divided into two types: video purchase and video rental. Make sure you read and understand the terms for the type of content you are downloading. Video Purchase: When you download a video marked as video purchase, you can download the video to your console and keep it as long as you like. You may download the video again (if available) for no charge, and you can also download and view the content on another console as long as you're signed into Xbox LIVE with the profile you used to purchase the content. Video Rental: When you download a video marked as video rental, you must watch the video within 14 days from the moment you select Confirm Download. The 14 days includes download time. Once you select Play to begin watching the video, you have 24 hours to view it. After the 24 hours or 14 days (whichever applies), the rental expires, and you will not be able to view the video unless you rent it again. One rental entitles you to one download. If you delete the video and want to download it again, you will have to rent it again.
Video Trick Modes. While a video is downloading, progress is measured in the info pane. You can begin watching your movie while it's still downloading from Xbox LIVE Marketplace. The controls allow you to pause, fast-forward, rewind, skip forward and back, and even bookmark a place to resume watching. Select Resume to begin playing where you left off and Play to start watching from the beginning. For more information about playback options, see Video Playback FAQ. Downloading Content When you select an item for download, your console checks to make sure you have sufficient space for the item. If space is low, you can delete items videos, game trailers, demos, and Xbox LIVE Arcade content to make room for your download. If you try to download new content without enough available space, the transaction will end and no points will be deducted from your account. New items are added to your active downloads list. You can queue up to six items and play music, DVDs, video, or games while your items download in the background. Downloading pauses if you play a game online or turn off your console. You can let your console finish your downloads even after you've turned it off. The console enters a low-power state the power light blinks every five seconds during active downloads and when your downloads are completed, it turns off automatically. To download content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace using a prepaid code - Go to the Marketplace area of the Xbox Dashboard and sign in to Xbox LIVE.

- Select Redeem Code.
Use your controller and the on-screen virtual keyboard or connect a USB keyboard to enter your prepaid code. Then select Done. Your item will download to your Xbox 360 Hard Drive or Xbox 360 Memory Unit.
To view your active downloads - Go to the Marketplace area of the Xbox Dashboard and sign in to Xbox LIVE.
- Select Active Downloads.
- Do one of the following:
- To download a pending item right away, select the item, then select Download Now. Downloading pauses temporarily for the original item while the newly selected item is downloaded, then resumes when it's finished.
- To cancel an active download, select the item, then select Cancel Download. This only removes the item from the list of active downloads. To remove any partially downloaded content from your console, go to System, Memory. If you want to resume downloading the item later, select it again in Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
