Create an Offline Profile

An offline gamer profile lets you start playing games on your Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system as quickly as possible, with no dependence on—or interactivity with—the Xbox Live service.

To create an offline gamer profile during initial setup:

  1. From the Gamer Profile page, select Create an offline profile.

    Offline profile
  2. At the next screen, Gamer Profile Name, enter a name for your gamer profile. While it's most convenient if this matches your Xbox Live gamertag—which you may or may not have yet—you can easily modify your gamer profile name later.

For instructions on changing your profile, see Change Your Gamertag or Gamer Profile.

    Enter gamertag

    Tip

Your gamertag can be from 1–15 characters (chosen from a–z, A–Z, 0–9, and space), it must begin alphabetically, it cannot end in a space, and it cannot have two spaces in a row.

  3. Select a gamer picture.

  4. At the next screen, Gamer Profile Name, enter a name for your gamer profile. While it's most convenient if this matches your Xbox Live gamertag—which you may or may not have yet—you can easily modify your gamer profile name later.
