Enjoy Movies, Music, Videos, and Pictures with Xbox 360

Xbox 360 brings music, movies, pictures, and more together in new and unique ways. This next-generation console is capable of taking advantage of all the following activities.

Stream, Rip, and Listen to Music
  • Audio CDs: Transfer music from your audio CDs to your Xbox 360 Hard Drive and create custom playlists, or listen to music straight from the CD.
  • Portable devices: Use the Xbox 360 console's USB controller ports (two in front, one in back) to connect Zune and most other portable music players and listen to your tunes in MP3 and WMA formats.
  • Microsoft Zune: Plug your Zune in and listen to your music.
  • Apple iPod: Plug in your iPod and listen to unprotected MP3 music files. You can also download a free update from Xbox LIVE Marketplace to listen to unprotected music in Apple's AAC format. Don't have a hard drive? No problem the AAC update fits easily on an Xbox 360 Memory Unit.

    Note

At this time you cannot listen to files that were downloaded from the iTunes music store.

  • PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista: If you're running either Windows XP or Windows Vista on your PC, you can stream unprotected music from your PC directly to your Xbox 360 console. For details, see Share Media from a PC with Xbox 360.
  • PC running Windows Media Center: If you have Windows Media Center and your console is connected to your home network, you can stream unprotected music from your PC directly to your Xbox 360 console. For details, see Share Media from Windows Media Center with Xbox 360.
