Renew Your Xbox Live Membership

To ensure uninterrupted gaming, use a credit card to secure your membership: you can do it right from your Xbox 360™ console and your subscription will automatically renew at the end of your membership period.

If you created your Xbox Live Gold Membership on an Xbox 360 console using a prepaid card, your membership will automatically renew to an Xbox Live Silver Membership at the end of your membership period. You can use another prepaid card to restore your membership to an Xbox Live Gold Membership. Better yet, activate your prepaid card before your Xbox Live Gold Membership expires so that you don't miss out on all the benefits of your Xbox Live Gold Membership.

To view your current membership and options for membership renewal:

1. From any area of the Xbox Dashboard, select your gamer profile.
2. From the Gamer Profile screen, select Account Management, Memberships.
3. Select your Xbox membership, identified by the type of membership you have (for instance, "Xbox Live 12 mo. Gold Membership").
4. Your membership screen will show your membership start date, the next billing date, your renewal type and cost, and, if applicable, both the card type and the last four digits of the credit card you used to pay for the membership.
   
   You'll also see three options, all of which pertain to membership renewal:
   • Select Modify Membership to view a list of alternate membership types and renewal options. If you have an Xbox Live Silver membership, you have the option to upgrade to a full Xbox Live Gold membership.
     
     
   • Select Change Payment Options to choose between a prepaid card, a new credit card, or (if applicable) your current credit card.
   • Select Redeem Prepaid Code to enter the 25-digit code from your prepaid card.
     
     To buy a prepaid card, visit your favorite video-game retailer.
