What the heck is "content download"?
Well, it's a variety of great stuff that you can download from the Xbox Live service. Stuff like new vehicles, weapons, skins, maps, levels, characters, spells, and team rosters for your favorite games. (Some of it's free, you'll be charged for the rest.) How much depends on what it is, but you will definitely be told how much it costs before you start downloading—and the amount will appear on your next credit card bill.
Download times depend on what exactly you're downloading, of course. A new race car might be pretty quick, but an entire village will probably take a bit longer. It will definitely be faster than downloading stuff on your old dial-up connection—that's the beauty of high-speed access.
Say you're a parent and don't much like the idea of your 14-year-old spending her college money on downloading grenade launchers for the latest first-person shooter.
