Troubleshoot Your Original Xbox Hardware

Console Problems

• Error message: "Your Xbox requires service. Please call Xbox Customer Support."
• You experience sound problems when using digital audio.
• The console freezes and you receive no error message.

Disc Problems

• A game disc will not play and you receive no error message.
• Error message: "Unable to read from the disc." (Console can't play game disc, a CD, or a DVD.)
• Error message: "Your Xbox can't recognize this disc." (Console can't play game disc, a CD, or a DVD.)
• Error message: "There is a problem with the disc you are using. It may be dirty or damaged." (Console can't play game disc, a CD, or a DVD.)
• A game locks up or freezes at the same point every time.

Accessory Problems

• You experience problems using the Xbox RF Adapter.
