Xbox Live® members for the original Xbox® video game system who want to go online using their Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system need to activate their current membership the first time they connect to Xbox Live using the Xbox 360 system.

When you activate your existing Xbox Live account for use with Xbox 360, you're not creating an additional membership—you're simply adding to the one you already have. You'll keep your gamertag, your friends list, and other key information. And you'll have full Xbox Live Gold privileges for the remainder of your membership period.

Still want to play on your original Xbox system? No problem. As long as you maintain the same gamertag, you can play on both the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 systems using the same Xbox Live membership.

To activate your account using your Xbox 360 system, follow these simple steps. If you have trouble, call 1-800-4MY-XBOX for help.

Activate Your Account

Activating your existing Xbox Live account for use with the Xbox 360 system is easy. Just make sure you get your gamer card first! To create a gamer card, go to My Gamer Card.

After you've created your gamer card, follow these steps to activate your account as an Xbox Live Gold membership. Keep this basic information handy: your gamertag, your birthdate, and the e-mail address and password associated with your .NET Passport account.

To activate your account for use with Xbox 360:

1. Make sure your Xbox 360 console is connected to Xbox Live.
2. From the Xbox Dashboard, go to Xbox Live.
3. Choose Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live and follow the on-screen instructions to create your new Xbox Live account.

You'll be asked to select preferences for language, country/region, time-zone, and Xbox Live promotions.

Upon completion, you'll be all set to dive headlong into online gaming and other digital entertainment for Xbox 360.

• Once you've activated your account according to the procedure outlined above, your current Xbox Live subscription will open up an Xbox Live Gold membership for Xbox 360. Any and all remaining time on your Xbox Live subscription can be used on either your original Xbox or your Xbox 360 system. You'll enjoy continued access to demos, trailers, downloads, tournaments, friends, and your gamertag, your unique digital identity.
• At the end of your current membership term, your membership will automatically renew to an annual membership at the current price unless you change your renewal method or cancel before your membership ends.
