Would you like to win a trip the NBA All-Star Game? How about playing for some great prizes at the NBA Jam Session in Houston, Texas during All-Star Week? Get ready to tip off against the best NBA 2K6 players in the country! Microsoft, the NBA, and 2K Sports have teamed up to bring you the NBA 2K6 All-Star Tournament. We will conduct two competitions using the Xbox Live® tournament leaderboards, one for Xbox® and one for Xbox 360™. The top 30 registered players from Xbox and Xbox 360 will be selected to advance to a bracketed tournament structure. These 60 gamers will be assigned an NBA team (30 for each platform) and compete against each other to win one of four Grand Prizes: a trip and tickets to the NBA All-Star Game in Houston.
Shaq backs it down. Beginning January 12, 2006, play "ranked" NBA 2K6 games on Xbox Live® to qualify for the playoffs. On January 23, 2006, the top 30 Xbox and top 30 Xbox 360 NBA 2K6 All-Star Tournament registrants on the respective leaderboards with at least five completed games during the leaderboard period will qualify for the NBA 2K6 All-Star Tournament Online Playoff period. The playoffs will consist of 30 players for each console. Each player will be assigned an NBA team to compete with throughout the playoffs. Team assignments will be based on a lottery system, with the highest-ranked registrant choosing their favorite team to compete with throughout the playoffs. These players will be placed and scheduled into two 15-person single elimination online tournaments, with the number one ranked team receiving a first-round bye. The NBA 2K6 All-Star Tournament Finals format will feature one match between the two Xbox finalists, and one match between the two Xbox 360 finalists.
