"They're back..." The now-penniless Freeling family flees after their Cuesta Verde tract house is obliterated by poltergeists and takes refuge with Gramma Jess. When Gramma dies, Carol Anne's play telephone rings with a call from "the other side." A ghostly apparition called Reverend Kane, a religious zealot responsible for the deaths of his followers, wants Carol Anne again. The family, together with the psychic Tangina and an elderly Native America, fight for her life…and her soul.
