The Golden Bears (5-1, 2-1) won their first five games, including their first two in conference, en route to the No. 2 spot in the Oct. 7 AP poll - their highest ranking since they were No. 1 on Oct. 16, 1951. Their national championship hopes, however, took a big hit after last Saturday's 31-28 loss to Oregon State.

LSU and Auburn both saw their games come down to the wire last week, and should expect nothing different in this weeks matchup. With its national championship hopes in jeopardy following its first loss, fifth-ranked LSU hopes to avoid a big blow to its SEC title hopes in a matchup with No. 18 Auburn as these rivals continue a series which has been producing memorable finishes. LSU (6-1, 3-1) was a unanimous choice as the No. 1 team in the nation before losing 43-37 in three overtimes at Kentucky.

Ohio State has won a school-record 26 straight regular-season games since a 17-10 loss at Penn State on Oct. 8, 2005. The Buckeyes avenged that defeat with a 28-6 win over the Nittany Lions last Sept. 23 in Ohio Stadium, but this will be their first trip to Happy Valley since losing there. Penn State (6-2, 3-2) has won three straight games to once again crack the Top 25. Joe Paterno's club peaked at No. 10 a month ago before falling out of the rankings after back-to-back road losses to Michigan and Illinois.

South Florida's surprising surge towards the top of the poll was halted with its first loss. The team looks to rebound on Saturday when it visits conference rival Connecticut. The Bulls (6-1, 1-1 Big East) dropped nine spots in the AP rankings to 11th after a 30-27 defeat to Rutgers on Oct. 18. The #19 USC Trojans have to win their last four conference games to earn at least a share of their sixth straight league championship. Quarterback John David Booty returns to the starting lineup. 8Oregon vs Arizona 11/1511/15/2007140 minutesSD Format: ...HD Format: ...
It's uncommon that an unranked opponent would be given such a chance against a #2, but this season has been riddled with David taking down Goliath. The Oregon Ducks have been making their championship bid behind the strong, Heisman worthy arm of Quarterback Dennis Dixon. Will the curse of the No. 2 take the form of an Arizona Wildcats team that has taken down ranked teams in November for the past 3 seasons?
