Eight of the country’s top Madden NFL players compete in a cross-country elimination tournament. Top NFL athletes selected from among these top gamers will represent them in the tournament.

| Madden Nation is back and the gamers hadn’t even played their first game before they were hit with a huge twist. At EA’s Tiberon Studio in Orlando, FL, Mario Williams of the Houston Texans informed the contestants that the entire tournament structure has changed. This season they will be playing as teams of two. In the new tournament structure teammates alternate playing each game and if you win a game you and your teammate are safe. This twist made for a very interesting game between Fred Dizzle and Rico, which definitely had an early impact on the tournament. | ||||||

| At the very beginning of this episode, DJ Rhude announces to the cast that due to personal family issues he is not going to be able to continue with the tour and the tournament. Also frustrated, Rico announces that he is leaving the tour and demands a plane ticket home. Some of the cast are baffled by Rico’s decision but Da Secret suggests that Rico left because he knew that he had no chance at winning the tournament. | The next stop on the tour is Baltimore for a three game tournament to determine who will play in the last free agent game before the final eight is established. | When the gamers reach the National Mall they split into their pairs and receive a text message that provides the second twist in the tournament structure. Each team must now pick one player to represent the team. That player will play one game and the winning team goes on to the final four. Both players on the losing team go home. The implications are huge, if you play and lose that means you have cost your teammate his chance at the $100,000 prize. | ||||||

| The bus heads to Philadelphia as the final four of the Madden Tournament is set and will be played at Lincoln Financial field. The gamers find a Madden setup right outside the stadium and learn that they will play right before the Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles.
