"I really believe that the bad times in life really help to contribute to the good times in life and these lyrics embrace that. I much prefer to allow myself to feel everything as it comes, as opposed to maybe numbing yourself so that you can avoid feeling anything."
The band Trapt. That attitude is exemplified in the band Trapt's third album, Only Through The Pain. Following on the success of their initial self-titled debut in 2002, and the solid gold selling Someone In Control released in 2005, the new album delivers eleven emotional and powerful tracks that combine crunchy hard rock with catchy, fun pop. The band will be premiering their new video for the single "Who's Going Home With You Tonight?" on Xbox LIVE® June 10 at 8 P.M. PT. You can get a taste of the band's signature style by checking out the trailer video.
The band's video premieres on Xbox LIVE June 10. Trapt consists of Brown, bassist Peter Charell, guitarist Robb Torres, and drummer Aaron "Monty" Montgomery. Montgomery notes that the diversity of songs on the new album is representative of the group as a whole. "We wanted to try new things and stretch ourselves creatively and approach things from a totally fresh perspective," he said. "We really had a mindset that anything goes. And if anybody has a good idea, let's work with it and not be so narrow in the scope of what we're trying to build. It's going to sound like Trapt because we're the guys in Trapt, so let's do what Trapt does and try some new approaches." And bassist Charell chimes in, "I think the main thing we wanted to do with this record is grow artistically and defy what people have come to expect from Trapt while still remaining true to ourselves." Growing artistically, remaining true to the core, and excelling both spiritually and creatively is what Trapt has done with their new release, Only Through the Pain.
