P.O.D.Published April 3, 2008 Guitarist Marcos Curiel returns to the lineup of P.O.D. for the release of their latest album, When Angels & Serpents Dance, their first for Columbia Records. The band went triple platinum with their 2001 release Satellite, and if the early reviews hold true, P.O.D. fans are in for a great time April 8 when the new record hits stores.
When Angels & Serpents Dance lands in stores April 8. "Our fans are excited and we're having a lot of fun," front man Sonny says. "After four years Marcos is back in the band, we've got new music. Things are exciting. When the four of us are in a room making music it's definitely right and Marcos has a distinctive sound, it definitely sounds like him and he brings that passion for music into the band." Sonny also points out that this is a more mature P.O.D. "Age has a lot to do with it, getting older. I'm married with kids now and we're not 18 in the garage anymore playing hardcore punk. We don't sound like those guys down in the garage," he says.
The band P.O.D. Also appearing on the record are Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies, Paige Hamilton of Helmet, and The Marley Sisters, daughters of legend Bob Marley. "We thought of the Melody Makers and put a call out to Cedella, which is Marley's first born," Sonny recalls. "We sent her the music, they loved it, and then I flew out there. I just stood out of the way and let them do their thing and it sounds awesome." From the hard rocking song "Addicted" (which you can download from P.O.D.'s official site) through "Kaliforn-Eye-A," "I'll Be Ready" and the title track, P.O.D. has come back in force with a passionate, aggressive message for our times.
