Well it's done, finished, fin, over. The record is has been recorded, and we are all at home now getting ready to leave in about a week and a half to fly up to Jersey to mix it with David Bendith. Pretty stoked on that... and we'll be close to NYC.

Since we are now at home, I'm going to do my best to rally some of the dudes to play online from our homes for this last Xbox session. It's been rad playing online with you guys! Hopefully, Xbox will let us keep the names for awhile and we'll keep getting on when we can and play with you guys. I also think we're going to throw the webcams back up while in the mixing studio to keep you guys updated on what's going on.

In other news the Rays swept the Red Sox, enraging Adam D. and giving us bragging rights. That was sweet. Apparently, Bam Margera made a nice intoxicated appearance on the webcam one night also.

Other than that we are all just trying to get ready for the release of the new record. I know it seems a long way away but it will be here in no time i'm sure. Well we'll see you online Thursday and hope everyone is doing good.

Hey, what's going on people? We're on the home stretch and the end is in sight. The record is coming together and we are all stoked on it.  We have a few cool things going on today. Chris (aka "AL") has been working on an instrumental track and a young lady is coming in to play some cello on it. The album is sounding awesome and we have just a few more songs to add vocals on to.

It's kind of weird comparing the recording of this record to our last ones. Since being in the studio we've talked about this quite a bit. For every new record we've recorded, we were mentally and artistically tired of the last one.  We've always wanted to challenge ourselves. However, for this record we are all at a point of being more comfortable with each other more than ever and also no one is tired musically of our last album, “Define The Great Line.”  We are all trying our best to put out the best possible record of course, but it's just weird being content with our last record. I don't really know how to better explain it, but it's just a different feeling in the studio.

Also, I want to apologize for last Thursday, we had some serious Internet lagging issues when we were playing online. Apparently, we were also streaming both live in-studio webcams and Adam was streaming a Red Sox game all on the same Internet line. It was a heavy load at one time. But we fixed the problem and we'll be on tonight again (6 – 8 PM Eastern) shredding the new maps on H3. If you got them sweet, and if you're thinking about getting them do it! They rule!

Well, thanks for reading and if you have a question post it in the forum. Later ya'll!

Yo, we're hanging in the studio working on some keyboard/media type stuff right now. Things are ahead of schedule and we have around half the record completely done. We're going to be playing some Halo 3 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Eastern tonight if anyone wants to play hit us up online. Peace.

Hey everyone,
Just hanging in the studio. I actually have the day off today which is pretty sweet. It's been a pretty calm experience recording this time. There are always those little things that pop up, but for the most part the recording in general just feels like a really chill hangout time than going to work everyday. Yesterday me, Adam D. (our producer,) Aaron, and Spencer went to the Braves/Mets game. We actually got hooked up with some really good seats and it was awesome. I'm not really much of a baseball guy, but I like going to the games. The Braves won 3-1. So, as far as the recording is going, we were done with all of the drums up until today, but haven't really been feeling a few parts on one song. I think we'll actually take some time and rewrite a few parts of it, which means all the drums for it have to be re-recorded.

Spee and I have been playing a lot of Halo® 3 in our down time. It's been cool just playing with kids and talking and chilling. It seems that the majority of people are playing Call of Duty® 4 or Halo 3. We have been playing Halo 3 just because we can play with more people a lot faster than most games. I did just buy Condemned 2: Bloodshot™ and I'm pretty stoked on playing that. Chris and I are going to try and freak ourselves out tonight by staying overnight and jamming on it in the upstairs apartment here. The apartment is not really completely built, so it looks more like a place a killer from a horror movie would live in than a cozy apartment! So it should be scary if the game delivers like the first one. Anyways, sorry about the long delay on updates. I'll try to be a little more on top of them this week. Take care, everyone.

Hey everyone!

This is Grant from Underoath writing you from the studio right now in Atlanta, Georgia. I'm stoked to get the opportunity to be a part of this blog for the next month or so while we record our new album. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Underoath, here's a quick little history lesson for you. We are a heavy rock band from Florida, and we are currently in the studio recording our fourth full-length album on Tooth & Nail Records. If you want to check us out, head over to our MySpace page and feel free to give it a listen.

Anyways, now that that's out of the way, I just want to say I'm excited for this opportunity to keep you guys in the Xbox LIVE® Community in check with what's going on with us in the studio and talk a little shop as far as gaming goes. I'm a pretty avid gamer especially in the first-person shooter department. My favorite games to play currently are Halo® 3, Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™, and NHL® 08. Anyways, I'll be posting here about what's happening in the studio and just in general pretty often—hopefully like every few days or so. If you have a question about something, feel free to ask in the forum. Alright, talk to you guys again soon!

Forum Q & A

Apoc Blade asked:
Has Aaron's side-project The Almost affected the band in anyway?

Grant: Yeah it has affected it. But it's just basically made everyone do their job a little better and know what's going on a little more. We have to have tours and time off pretty much set in stone months in advance so if The Almost books a tour when we say we're off (Underoath) it's not fair to just take an offer and screw those guys because Underoath is Aaron's first priority. It was a little tricky at first and caused a few issues but we've got it down pretty good now. Aaron does a great job working with both bands and schedules to make it work.

lemonaides asked:
Hey Grant did you ever finish your forge of Boarding v2 -(referring to Halo 3)-? I tried to get it done as similar to the original as I could, I think its on my file share if you wanted to try it out...

Grant: Haha no, that's awesome that you kept working on it though. I remember you spending like an hour on those freakin' barrels. You'll have to show it to me sometime though. I was messing around with forging on "Blackout" the other day and I think you can do some sweet stuff with that map as well.

Mikeymanguy1 asked: What's your guys favorite thing to eat on tour and when are you coming back to Cincinnati, Ohio?

Grant: Favorite thing to eat, hmmm probably a really good bar-b-q restaurant or some sweet sushi joint personally. We should be back in Cinncy or relatively close sometime this fall (Oct.-ish).

HxC 740 DxP asked:
What do you guys think of the other bands on your upcoming joining of the tour with Slipknot this summer?

Grant: I think they aren't the bands we would normally tour with so I'm kinda split on it. I'm a little nervous as to how we will go over with such a metal crowd but I'm also pretty excited to mix it up. Try something new. I think in the end of the day regardless, we're going to get on stage and put on the best show we can ... and either people will love or hate it. No worries.

Sempara asked:
What's the most fun and rewarding part of performing music for you guys?

Grant: I think just taking a second to look around during a show.  I know we've said that before to each other.  If we're having a rough day or something just look around and realize you're getting to play music you love, to people that want to hear it, represent what you believe, and do it with you're best friends.  Just being playing a show and pushing yourself on stage and then talking to someone afterwards that really appreciated is a great part of it.
