Emerging Artist:

Escape The Fate

Published October 1, 2008

Hard-rocking Las Vegas-based band Escape The Fate has released two downloadable songs in MP3 format for all their Xbox.com fans, including a track from their yet-to-be released latest album, This War Is Ours.

"The Guillotine" is a song inspired by the game Halo® 2 that appeared on the band's debut album, Dying is Your Latest Fashion. "This War Is Ours" is the continuation of that story inspired by Halo 3, and is the title track on the band's second album, This War Is Ours, available in stores October 21.

Escape The Fate has gone through an amazing, and painful, journey since their first album. Jail, drug addictions, and the eventual departure of their frontman would spell the end for most groups. But Escape The Fate is different. They found their new lead singer, Craig Mabbitt, former vocalist for group blessthefall, by luck.

"I found myself looking for a project or to start something up. I was going to join a band by the name of A Skylight Drive," Mabbitt recollects. "They gave me the number of somebody to get the recording of their new album so I could write to it. I wrote the wrong number down. Instead of calling the guy from the band, I called Escape The Fate's manager. I was like, 'Yo send me the tracks!' and he was like, 'What tracks?' We had a laugh."

That break vaulted them into the studio to create This War Is Ours, a blistering, hard-rocking, hard-partying album that exemplifies all the best qualities of the band. Mabbitt, bass player Max Green, and drummers Monte Money and Robert Ortiz are excited about the opportunity to reinvent themselves and to work with each other.

As Mabbitt notes, "We decided we play music for a reason. Who cares what people think, let's make the kind of music we want to make the way we want to make it." Download the tracks today and discover the music of Escape The Fate!
