Artist of the Month:WolfmotherAt A Glance
Proclaimed as the re-birth of the power trio, and inspired by such classic bands as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple, Sydney's Wolfmother has been heralded with both platinum-selling records and a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. Fresh off a successful world tour in support of their self-titled debut album, Wolfmother is May's Xbox LIVE® Artist of the Month.
Sydney 's Wolfmother. The three members of Wolfmother all share songwriting responsibilities, with Myles Heskett on drums, Chris Ross on bass and keyboards, and Andrew Stockdale handling guitar and vocals. After the successful release of a self-titled EP in 2004, Wolfmother went on to make several big appearances in their native Australia, most notably at the legendary down under rock show, Big Day Out, and they headlined at several American rock festivals, including Coachella, Sasquatch, Lollapalooza, and Austin’s SXSW. The band recorded their full-length debut in Los Angeles for an October 2005 release, and saw their album reach unprecedented levels of success. Their music was notably featured in several commercials, as well as having tracks on Madden NFL 07, Need for Speed™ Carbon, and Guitar Hero II™. Rolling Stone magazine labeled them one of ten Bands to Watch in 2006, and they will also be featured on the upcoming film soundtrack for Spider-man 3.
