  • Their fifth studio album,and third for Island Records, is Folie à Deux, releasing December 16.

Chicago band Fall Out Boy headlined the "Rock the Vote Ballot Bash" and spearheaded a politically charged group of musicians this past year, urging citizens to get out there and vote. Bass player Pete Wentz said about the musical campaign, "This roll-out was started to engage people and let them tell their own stories. We came up with the beginning and the end, while the rest happened organically."

During the Democratic National Convention, the band announced the forthcoming release of their fifth studio album and third on the Island Records label. The new album is called Folie à Deux, and is scheduled to hit stores December 16. The first single off the album, "I Don't Care," is now available as a song download through all the major outlets.

Fall Out Boy consists of Patrick Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Trohman (guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums). They have won three MTV Video Music Awards, including Best Group for 2007, and their cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" was nominated for Best Rock Video at this year's MTV VMA show.
