Artist of the Month:Modest MouseAt A Glance
Driven by the new hit single "Dashboard," Modest Mouse is gearing up to tour in support of their new album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, the follow-up to their 2004 album, the platinum-selling, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, which also earned them two Grammy nominations. Both albums were produced by Dennis Herring. We Were Dead was recorded at Sweet Tea Studios in Oxford, Mississippi, and was mixed and finished in Portland, Oregon. Blender Magazine has named Modest Mouse's upcoming album the number 25 reason to love 2007. In anticipation of the album's release, Modest Mouse has been named March's Xbox Live® Artist of the Month.
Modest Mouse Easily identified by their unique musical and vocal styles, Modest Mouse started out in Issaquah, Washington, just outside Seattle and near Microsoft's home in Redmond. The band was founded by guitarist/songwriter Isaac Brock and drummer Jeremiah Green. From their indie label debut in 1994 through their first major label record with Epic in 2000, Modest Mouse is commonly identified as one of modern rock's most progressive bands. Download the music video for "Dashboard," directed by Motion Theory (Beck, "Girls") today from Xbox Live Marketplace, and look for an opportunity to play against Modest Mouse in an upcoming Game with Fame. The band is also making a few pre-release appearances and will soon announce a world tour in support of We Were Dead.
