On September 2, Young Jeezy will release his third much-anticipated album, The Recession, the follow-up to the platinum selling The Inspiration, in the continuing saga of one of the rap world's most successful performers and entrepreneurs. Young Jeezy. Young Jeezy's first full-length, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101, was named The New York Times' Pop Album of the Year, and Jeezy was named Best New R&B/Hip-Hop Artist at the Billboard Music Awards. He's built on that initial success to create his own label, CTE, in partnership with Def Jam. And that in turn led to the creation of USDA (United Streets Dopeboyz of America), a collaboration with artist Blood Raw and Atlanta MC Slick Pulla.
Young Jeezy has his own clothing line as well. In addition to his success as an entertainer and chief executive of CTE, Young Jeezy has also launched his own clothing line, Eighty Seven Thirty Two (8732). And he has started the Toyz n da Hood program, a week-long annual toy drive that gave away 1,000 toys for 1,000 kids at various locations in Atlanta and Macon in 2007. Jeezy is ending an 11-city tour on September 2 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Tabernacle, and his new album, The Recession, releases on that date.
