The pair's new album Face Off marks the culmination of a joint collaborative process dating back to 2005, when Omarion's vocal contributions to "Let Me Hold You," the first single from Bow Wow's fourth album Wanted, peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Bow Wow his first-ever Top 10 single and Omarion his first Top 10 as a solo artist. "You could pretty much say we grew up in the industry together," Omarion explains. "We've always encouraged each other, but at the same time we've also challenged each other enough to take ourselves to the next level. We both pushed each other and we both wanted to be the best that we could on every record." Competition and CooperationBow Wow and Omarion share a sense of competition and cooperation on Face Off, the pair's first full-length collaborative album and one of the most anticipated albums of the year. "It's us competing with ourselves," Omarion says, pointing out how the challenges inherent in the collaboration pushed each artist to create his own best work. "This album is going to show our growth. It's also something different for the people." "I wanted to do this because I've never done nothing like this before," Bow Wow concurs. "It's always easy to work with artists who have that passion and care that much for what they love to do. When you can share that passion, it's going to run smooth. That's what this whole energy and vibe has been like working on this album." Look for Bow Wow and Omarion all month long on Xbox LIVE Marketplace! |
