Big Fish, Small Pond: Walkthrough Part Two

  • Help Sam Fisher break a domestic terrorist out of jail.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell® Double Agent™ presents a new chapter in the life of Sam Fisher, secret agent. After your initial mission in Iceland, it's time to go undercover. After a personal tragedy undermines Sam's morale, he undertakes a suicide mission: Cozying up to a group of terrorists. So first, he goes to prison. This isn't a soft Holiday Inn prison either. This is the get murdered in the showers kind of prison.

Don’t forget: No killing allowed.

Don’t forget: No killing allowed.

The Big House
Sam is in prison to find a scumbag named Jamie Washington and help him escape. Of course, if there's anyone who can escape from prison, it's Sam Fisher. Washington is connected with John Brown's Army, and getting him out of prison will get Sam in good with the terrorists.

Sam's cell looks like any other cell, but it has one feature that makes it unique. There's a hole in the wall behind the poster. Tear it away and climb into the tunnel. Climb the pole you come to, and crawl through the vent. You'll reach a walkway, and from there you can look down and see the prison riot starting, right on schedule.

A Shiv A Day
Follow the walkway until you reach the next vent. Open it using your shiv. Pass through the vent and look for a trapdoor. Drop through it into the guard office. There will be a guard there, so grab him, and interrogate him, but don't kill him. Squeeze him until he gives you the security code. You can also get the code from hacking the computer and reading the email, and the email has other important hints as well.

Take the guards by surprise.

Take the guards by surprise.

Find the locked room and enter the code on the keypad. Get the smoke grenades from inside, you'll need them later. Pick the lock on the door of the guard office to move on. Cautiously advance downstairs. Watch and wait for the guards to enter rooms before revealing yourself.

To Kill or Not to Kill
Find the side room and enter it carefully. Watch for the guard making his rounds. Remember not to kill any guards, or you'll lose credibility with the NSA. Whenever possible, sneak up behind guards and incapacitate them. If a guard discovers you, you may have to take them out, but keep it to a minimum.

Disable the metal detector in the side room. Cut the cable if you're in a hurry, but you can hack the computer and shut it down if you have time. Pass through into the hallway once the detector is disabled. Another guard is waiting for you, and safely taking him out may require some creativity.

Riot and Wrong
Beyond the next door, the prisoners are in full-blown riot mode. The guards and the prisoners are in a standoff. You don't technically have any enemies on either side, so play it safe. If you can, sneak through the chaos without killing anyone. You can't afford to lose respect from either side.

Pull the left bumper to view your mini-map. Avoid going upstairs and make for the two small rooms off the main room. One of them has a door that will let you escape into the gym. Make your way to the central elevator tower, pick the lock, and enter. Take your time and take out the guards one at a time, and don't kill them.

Up, Up and Away
Look for a computer inside the tower on the second floor. Hack it and read the email. The riot shotgun that's hanging on the wall might come in handy, too. It's non-lethal, so that's one less thing to worry about. The gun will allow you to progress faster without perpetually sneaking.

Remember, try not to kill anyone.

Remember, try not to kill anyone.

Ascend one more level and find the computer that controls the prison's cell doors. Hack this computer and open all the cell doors to add to the chaos downstairs. Continue up in the elevator to the roof to meet Jamie Washington. He'll tell you the way is clear, but he's full of it. He runs ahead without you.

The Great Escape
After you leave the elevator, you'll face another two guards. Neutralize them, climb through the broken window, and pull yourself up the pipe. Access the roof through a second broken window. You catch up with Washington here, but he manages to get himself captured by a guard. The riot gun will come in handy here, so hopefully you saved a few rounds. It may go against your instincts, but you need to save the bad guy from the good guy. Take down the guard.

Before your mission is over, there is one remaining objective: Get Washington off the roof of the prison. Conveniently, a nosy news helicopter is hovering just overhead. Follow the open wall and the fire escapes to a door that opens into a room of computer equipment. Climb the ladder there to reach the roof, and from there it's a snap to take over the chopper. Pick up Washington, and you're on your way.
