Ghosting Online

- Understand the settings, learn to aim, neutralize the drone, use smoke properly, go prone, and move constantly.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™ is an entirely different beast online. Strategy requires more quick-witted responses. Whether you're a veteran of the series or a relative newcomer to the tactical shooter genre, try the following multiplayer-centric tips.
Check the Settings
Though not directly related to gameplay, be vigilant in checking the settings the host has chosen before the game launches. It's common to hear things like "where did my grenades go?" or "wait, is this Bounty Hunter?" well after the game is launched. There are a lot of options to toggle on and off, and, if you understand the game mode and Advanced Settings chosen, you'll be better prepared to execute instant strategy.

Cautious movement. Good call.
Left Trigger Sighting
Anyone can spot you at any time in multiplayer matches, so don't overuse the zoom-in scope functionality. Instead, use the left trigger to increase your accuracy. It's faster, will guarantee a more tightly grouped shot, and you can ease off the left trigger much faster than clicking out of the scope.
A common and very useful tactic is to head around corners using the left trigger. Your aim is locked in tight and ready to fire if someone is around the bend.
Drone Kills
A master of drone movements can use the remote tool to spot your locations right quick. Select a player on your team to be in charge of drone killing. From the moment they spawn on the map, that player should focus on the enemy's drone, and keep a sharp eye out for when it respawns.

Keep laying off that scope.
If you really want to do your homework, check to see what the drone respawn timer is set to before the match launches. You'll have an easier time guessing when it will reappear.
Smoke Objectives
Ghosts work better in obscurity, especially when attacking a base or going after a flag. To this end, use your smoke grenades and use them often when infiltrating an enemy base. You'll cause just enough confusion to take away the defender's natural advantage.
Prone in the Open
When needing to cover open ground, do yourself a favor and offer up the smallest target possible. Get down on your belly in the prone position and crawl across open ground. There are few things more frustrating than making it to within yards of the flag only to be gunned down because you were too easily spotted. Caution is the word of the day.

Drones highlight enemy placements.
Always on the Move
Camping will only get you killed. I'm not suggesting you run around willy-nilly, but make sure that you move on after scoring a kill. Unless the Kill Camera is turned off, the player you just put down will know just where you are.
If you want to get real crafty, arrange your new position so you've got a good sightline to your last spot. Then, when angry-soldier-boy returns for revenge, you've got the drop on them again.
Keep Still
A quiet body is an accurate body. Throw away your Halo® 2 instincts which scream for you to jump around like a wild man and constantly strafe. Instead, whenever shooting, even when being shot at (unless at point blank range), drop down to your knees or go prone and return fire. The soldiers of GRAW are wildly inaccurate when on the run.
Now get out there and cause some discreet havoc. See you online.
