After successfully freeing Supreme Chancellor Palpatine from the vile clutches of Count Dooku and landing back on Coruscant, Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is dispatched to the far reaches of the Outer Rim—the Planet Utapau—to track down the murderous leader of the separatist forces, General Grievous. ThisStar Wars®: Episode III Revenge of the Sith™ walkthrough will take you through the first level as you fight your way through the never-ending droid army and eventually face down the deadly Crab Droid.
Up until this level, you've been able to depend for the most part on having a partner to aid you in battle. However, Utapau is Obi-Wan-specific, so you need to change your strategy a bit to compensate for the lack of help.
The first moments of Utapau are straightforward. Proceed across the ramps and bridge-ways while cutting through the battle droids. Once you get to the first main platform, though, you must deal with two things. First, make sure you eliminate the gun turret: use your force deflection technique or your lightsaber throw to take it down. Next, you have to deal with a wave of large battle droids. Watch out for their throws and fire attacks. If you wait for them to attack and counter with strong attacks (Y button), you should get rid of them quickly.
You won't have Ani to help you this time.
The last battle droid comes through the door in the middle of the platform. Head in after dispatching him. You are greeted by a fresh wave of enemies here. Try dispatching the smaller ones first, and then position yourself so that the larger droids are between you and the sniper. The sniper fire should take them out. Next, run to the jump location (it's the glowing circle in the corner), and use it to leap up to the next platform, where you can activate the control platform to bring down another platform. After killing the droids that appear, throw your lightsaber at the power node (it's glowing yellow) to eliminate the stream of fire blocking your path.
Next, slice open the nearby box for a large dose of bacta, and then run across to activate the next panel. This activates a platform far across the map, and brings up a jump location right next to you. Use the jump node to launch yourself across to the new platform. You need to time your way between bouts of fire as you navigate your way to the next platform. You find a super battle droid and a gun turret at the end of the fire traps. Force Grab the nearby exploding canister and cast it at the turret. Then deal with the super battle droid and the two waves of enemies that come after. Open the nearby door by using your thrust attack (the B button) and rotating the left thumbstick. Inside are three super battle droids.
Once you destroy the super battle droids, take a moment to heal yourself (click and hold down the left and right thumbsticks). You can open the nearby door by using the Thrust Attack and then cutting a square opening in the door.
That's a man with a plan right there.
This next part is tricky. You have to deal with a large turbo-laser cannon, but you can't destroy it. Instead, use your Jedi speed (press twice rapidly in the direction you want to run) to outrun its blasts. Keep in mind that this ability isn't limitless. It uses your Force power, so try hiding behind obstacles (the boxes, not the exploding barrels) when you start running low on juice. This gives you a couple seconds to regain some power before moving again. Once you're through the first area, use the glowing jump pad to leap up to the next area. Unfortunately, the cannon will follow you up. Just use the same technique to get through this area and you should be fine. Also, ignore the little battle droids that get in the way. Stopping to fight them will only get you hit by the cannon.
Once you're beyond the sight of the cannon, you can safely dispatch the droids in front of a control panel near a ray-shielded door. Activate the panel so you can run across to the empty cannon. Climb inside (after grabbing the large bacta health supply next to it) and blast the power supplies to the right and left of the energy shield. If you do this quickly enough, you shouldn't have to worry about any more than two super battle droids showing up. Just ignore them, blow up the power supplies, jump out of the cannon, and race through the door.
This will bring you to the boss battle for this level, the Crab Droid. He's a pesky little bugger, but like all good bosses, he's got a weakness to exploit. Wait for one of his major attacks to finish (laser beam, claw swing, charge), and then grapple him (X and Y when you're near where his mouth should be). A successful grapple will flip Obi-Wan on top of the Crab Droid's head, where you can strike down at him with the X button. You need to do this a few times to succeed, but once you get the hang of it, it shouldn't pose a major problem.
Well, there! You did it. The Investigating Utapau level is now complete, and you can move forward in your quest to apprehend General Grievous. May the Force be with you, always.
