The following walkthrough will guide you through the first level of the Star Wars Battlefront™ II single-player Rise of the Empire campaign. Beware—spoilers ahead!

The Clone wars have fractured the galaxy and cast a dark shadow upon the Republic. Across the universe, its members' allegiance and resolve are weakening. Chancellor Palpatine commissions an elite clone trooper regiment loyal only to himself, the 501st Legion, to eliminate the Separatist threat once and for all. Taking advantage of the Republic's burning desire to end the ongoing conflict, the wheels of Palpatine's treasonous plans are set in motion.

Use Ki-Adi-Mundi's Force Pull ability to
tug distant enemies into striking range.

The 501st joins Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi on frozen world Mygeeto for the first of many battles to come, which will ultimately decide the fate of the galaxy.

Mygeeto: Amongst the Ruins
A powerful energy source must be recovered from the CIS manufacturing plant. Destroy the energy collector which supplies power to its factories and recover the unique crystals from its core.

In the introductory cinematic, the narrator reveals the 501st's aims on Mygeeto; specifically, to further the Chancellor's agenda by retrieving the power source for Palpatine's experimental laser. Despite being on the lookout for treachery, the Jedi council and Ki-Adi-Mundi never gain wind of their ulterior motives.

As the level opens, choose one of four characters—clone trooper, clone sharpshooter, clone engineer, or heavy trooper. You'll then find yourself standing in an open courtyard surrounded by large metal structures and swirling snowflakes, and joined by clone trooper, clone commander and sharpshooter allies.

The Separatist Command Post
Cross the bridge and capture the Separatists' forward command post, located inside the central building ahead. Move ahead and to the right, following the red target on your radar and yellow arrow on-screen prompts. As you approach the bridge, battle is joined.

Assault droids and super battle droids charge forward. Eliminate them by ducking behind the ample cover provided and popping out to return fire, or hiding in the craters in the bridge and taking aim. As you approach the next courtyard, keep an eye on your left and right sides; enemies may approach from your flanks.

Be careful while drawing near to the steps leading up into the building—more droids will come charging down, armed with grenades. Take command of the AT-RT walker (watch out, as its lasers may overheat) if you run low on health or need additional firepower to use against them. You can also get ammo and health boots by picking up the power-ups dropped by fallen foes. If you should die at any point, respawn from command post four.

Proceed up the steps, strafing away at onrushing opponents and using thermal detonators to eliminate large groups in one swoop whenever possible. Stand next to or on top of the command post until it comes into your possession … you know this has occurred when an on-screen meter which suddenly appears first turns white, then fills with blue.

Watch for attacks from the left though, as enemies come charging down the hall. The nearby medical and ammo droids can provide a health and ammo boost if needed.

Destroy the Particle Cannon Turrets
Go back the way you came, eliminating the minimal opposition which stands in your way. Grab the AT-RT walker waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs. Destroy the two turrets—one located to the left of the bridge, one located to the right—from a distance using your laser cannons. Mind yourself, though … its blasters can overheat. And beware: AAT tanks patrol the area.

Should you encounter one, feel free to destroy the tank before focusing on your core targets by wandering around circular courtyards or curving pathways while hiding behind pillars and strafing it with gunfire. Do enough damage, and the vehicle may flee the scene as well. However, you're better off going directly for the turrets, as they can be rapidly reduced to rubble, letting you proceed with additional mission goals.

If your AT-RT becomes disabled during the course of assaulting the cannons and fending off the tank's attacks, finish the job using thermal detonators.

Destroy the Generators
In order for your forces to be able to demolish the energy collector, you'll have to power down their shields. At this point, you're given the option of playing as General Ki-Adi-Mundi. Choose to do so, and select command post three as a starting point. Bear in mind, you only have a limited amount of time to control him, as indicated by the shrinking lightsaber meter in the left-hand corner, so work quickly.

Move ahead and to the right, until you come to a glowing green shield barrier. Jump over it or bypass it by going through the doorway on the left. Keep an eye out for AAT tanks, although you can quickly carve them apart with your blade if necessary.

Circle back around and smash the shield generator, whose location is indicated by arrow prompts. Congratulations—the shield goes down.

Capture the Northwest Command Post
Completing this task will give you a good staging ground for your formal assault on the energy collector.

Turn around and move to the left until you see another shield barricade. Eliminate it using the same method as before. Turn around again, proceeding back down the path you originally took to get to the shield generators. In the distance, you'll spot a glowing red command post.

Proceed toward it and capture it by standing close by. Should assault or super battle droids get in your way, you can block their shots with your lightsaber before closing in for the kill. Alternately, use Ki-Adi-Mundi's Force Pull ability to tug distant enemies into striking range, or hurl your weapon towards them as a deadly projectile.

Destroy the Energy Collector Core
By now, Ki-Adi-Mundi will be ready to flee the battlefield. When he departs, you'll have your pick of a couple more character types including jet troopers and clone commanders.

Select the clone commander; its ultra-powerful chain-gun, once charged, is capable of finishing off foes in no time flat. Afterwards, choose to spawn at command post five.

Proceed back down the path which leads past the defunct shield barriers. Hang a left when you see a bridge. On the horizon, you'll first spot the energy collector core. Travel down the bridge, ducking behind the outcroppings on its sides if necessary to avoid incoming fire. Annihilate any droids which get in your way.

Upon arriving at the energy collector, you'll notice its shields are active and prevent entry. Circle around to the left or right, obliterating the generators—there are two total—as you encounter them. Beware of powerful magnaguard enemies, who are best dispatched with your chain-gun. If you don't like surprises, use your recon droid (which you can manually pilot, look through the eyes of, and even attack enemies with) to see what's waiting around the corner before charging in.

The shields are down. Droidekas armed with machine gun weapons and portable shields guard the energy core collector. Now would be a good time to move around to the right side of the main entry and reequip and heal yourself using the ammo and health droids located there.

As you circle around the building in which the energy collector core is housed, you'll find multiple doors. Look for the one directly opposite the main entryway, located behind the device. Unload on the energy collector core with all you've got until it starts spitting electricity and belching flames, then breaks down.

Acquire the Power Crystals
Move to the front of the now useless energy collector core. Grab the power crystals waiting there on the ground.

Got 'em? Good. It's time to get the crystals back to the dropship, indicated by a blinking yellow circle on your radar.

The bridge is now crawling with enemies. Watch your step. Return down and hang a right. Watch out for turrets, AAT tanks, droidekas and magnaguards as you go.

Follow the on-screen arrow prompts all the way back to near where you began the level, sprinting whenever possible. Stick to the right side of the map, and proceed until you reach the dropship.

Victory!
