About the Map
The Steel Squat hideout, located in Brooklyn, New York, is one of the main warehouses of the Steel Gang, the organization thought to be responsible for the recent 17% surge in New York's crime rate.

Originally regarded as an insignificant group of thugs from the West Coast of the U.S.A., the Steel Gang came to New York after making an agreement with The Caesars, a well established but fading star on the mafia crime scene. The power of The Caesars had been declining for years, but after a huge police operation in October 2002, most of the Caesars' were arrested and there was little left of the original organization.

Though greatly weakened, The Caesars still had all the connections that allowed the Steel Gang to bring their expertise to bear. Within a few months, the union officially changed its name to The Steels, and began to specialize in massive and shocking robberies that would fund their other schemes—drugs, prostitution, money laundering … the list of alleged felonies grew daily.

It wasn't until the infighting between the majority of the inner-city gangs came to a standstill that the FBI started paying more attention to The Steels than they did to other criminal organizations.

Over the past five years, one by one, each of the smaller and moderate-sized gangs in the city have either vanished or have shed their past affiliations and officially become part of The Steels, making it the third largest organization of its kind on the East Coast.

A massive joint operation between the DEA, Internal Revenue Service, the FBI, and the U.S. Customs Service have turned up some disturbing evidence that suggests that The Steels may have been funded and trained by a foreign power. It is imperative that Shadownet infiltrate The Steel Squat and retrieve any information that might support this suspicion.
