Hostage Negotiation
Using human cover is an important aspect of this game, so master it quickly. When you have a hostage, you can force cops and security guards to do what you want. Threaten your hostage and the armed opponents will throw down their weapons. You can direct cops to move closer to each other so they will all follow the same order after you hit your hostage, which will make the poor guy last longer.

If your hostage is running out of stamina, call a cop or security guard in close, knock the hostage unconscious, and then grab the new hostage before anyone can get a shot off.

Keep it Covered
Always use cover when it is available. Check your sides often to make sure you aren't being flanked. Cops and security guards are trained to find a way around you to get the drop on you, even if they have to go through a building to get there.

Violent Tendencies
Don't forget you can only carry two guns at once. If you want to pick up a new gun, make sure you have selected the one you want to drop first.

If you decide to play it psycho and kill everyone, use the sniper rifle from the top of the stairs to clear the way to the Pontic Freight Depot.

Keep your gun handy, your hostage fresh, and your suit clean. Oh, and don't forget to tip, huh?
