Parkade and Train Yard Maps

Who loves Xbox Live™ gamers? Ubi Soft, who brought Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® 3 to Xbox Live, that’s who. As if the flurry of free downloadable maps that Ubi Soft has lavished on us so far hasn’t been cool enough—personally, I still can’t get enough of the Meat Factory—we now get the transportation-themed Parkade and Train Yard, both ready to play online against all your counterterrorist pals. But, don’t take my words for it, gape lovingly at these exclusive screen shots!

Parkade
Location: Los Angeles, Calif.

The Parkade map rocks. It’s one of those multi-floor parking structures (like in Highlander, The Sopranos, and every-other episode of The X Files) with a slow, curvy, sloping ramp that corkscrews down through the whole thing, giving sharpshooters easy access to every level on the map. Naturally, you’ve also got plenty of cars and concrete pillars to provide cover as well as lighting that can hide you as easily as it hides the enemy.

Start at the top and work down.

A place just made for meeting secret informants.

A very bad place to get trapped—between floors.

Bet you wish you could shoot lights like Fisher.

Train Yard
Location: Heidelberg, Germany

“Zug Zentral” reads the sign in the middle of the Train Yard map, and that must mean we’re in the land of lederhosen, sauerbraten, and Rock Star David Hasselhoff: Germany! The Train Yard is a very horizontally oriented map, with large open areas broken up by train-car-sized pieces of cover. There are also cramped places to hide out and fire escapes that lead to rooftops. These spots are great for sniping, but don’t let yourself get cornered.

The Train Yard: We assume they all run on time.

Look up “choke point” in the dictionary, and you’ll see this.

Trucks get love at the Train Yard, too.

There is no right side of these tracks.
