More Weapons, Better Weapons

Half the fun of Quantum Redshift is that you can shoot at your opponents, and how you use your weapons becomes crucial to winning, especially later in the game. I've already given you some hints about how to make the most of this. Now, let's take a look at the kinds of weapons you can get as you earn money in the winner's circle at the end of each race.

You choose to spend your winnings on power, overshields, or weapons. Power just keeps getting more powerful. The weapons and overshields, however, change as you increase them.

Every racer has 10 weapons unique to that individual. These include the yellow overshield weapons that defend against anyone who fires a weapon at you. If you do the math, this means there are 160 different weapons in Quantum Redshift.

Overshields
As you scream around the track, your opponents are going to shoot at you. You can activate your overshields at the right moments and save yourself a lot of heartache. As you advance and sink more money into your shields, you gain greater protection. Take a look at how the overshields progress:

• Level 1: This overshield protects all characters from damage in the same way. It also gives back 10 shield points.
  
• Level 2: This overshield protects for a longer period of time, gives 20 points back, and negates all the damage you would have taken if you hadn't had the Level 2 activated.
  
• Level 3: When you have this overshield activated, it gives back 30 points, and it shoots back at the racer who just shot at you.

Weapons
You get upgrades to your current character's weapon whenever you spend money on greater fire power. In the following list, you'll find the names of each weapon for each character.

And, if that's not enough for you, there's also a tenth "special" weapon for each character. You can get it in the final stages of the game. I'm a tease, I know, but I can't give you any more information than that. You'll just have to beat the game, and see for yourself!
