There's something very satisfying about smashing stuff. The developers of MechAssault understand this. But beyond every structure, bridge, tower, and bus being fully destructible, some of these structures hold power-ups: also know as salvage. So I caught some time with those in the know and got more details on what structures to search.
Armor storage buildings Normally found in industrial and military areas, armor storage buildings usually hold at least one armor section and sometimes more. Destructive tendencies are rewarded: knock over those buildings to reach the delicious salvage filling inside.
Open buildings If a 'Mech can walk into a building you can sometimes find hidden salvage stockpiles. Excellent examples: aircraft hangars and Mech hangars. Just be careful—if the building is blown up while you're in it you won't be happy with the results.
Munitions storage buildings Like the armor storage buildings, munitions storage is usually found in military and industrial areas. You can find any weapon type (energy, ballistic, and missile) inside one of these.
Supply trucks Not only do these make great soccer balls for a 'Mech to kick, they also can carry salvage. Just be sure not to kick your truck somewhere you can't reach or you may be out of luck when it comes to claiming your prize.
Supply tents Used in temporary installations, supply tents can carry salvage of any type.
Out in the open Rarely will 'Mech supplies be left out in the open where they can be just picked up. But if you're lucky enough maybe you can find some.
These are only a few of the power-ups I was able to bribe… er… coax out of the developers. (Pizza goes only so far with gamer geeks). Let me know if you find any more!
