Prima Tips for Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

Published November 14, 2007

Here are seven top tips from Prima that will help you find success in IO Interactive's Kane and Lynch: Dead Men™.

  1. Take Cover
Cover, cover, cover! Always use cover while in a firefight. If you risk it and simply try to "gun it out," chances are you'll be cut down after taking two or three steps.
  2. Take Advantage of Cover Fire
If you need to move to another position, get your men to provide cover fire for you. This allows you to move (and not get pinned down behind cover) while minimizing your risk of being shredded by bullets.

Make sure to use cover and don't just stand there.

  3. Mix Up Your Weapons
Keep in mind that certain weapons are more effective at different ranges than others. A "one gun" mentality will only get you killed.
  4. Grenades Are Good
Grenades are more effective than you think. Just because a smoke grenade doesn't inflict damage, it doesn't mean that it can't be a valuable part of your arsenal. Use smoke grenades to obscure enemy fire or to provide cover in open areas. One smoke grenade can alter an entire shootout.
  5. Remove Heavy Artillery
You may think it's easier to simply avoid heavy artillery than it is to take it out. Sometimes (as is the case with stationary turrets), it can be. More often than not, however, it's better to take the extra minute to eliminate the turret, helicopter, or APC than to try and sneak by. They can shred your entire team with one spray of their weapons. Better safe than sorry.

Use your team to your advantage.

  6. It's a Hot Potato
Throw back those grenades! Not only is it fun to try and take out an enemy with his own pineapple, but by throwing back enemy grenades, you save your own grenades for later!
  7. Only Fools Rush In
Don't just rush at enemies and try to overpower them. You have a team of four or more at your disposal. Coordinate their movements and flank enemies whenever possible.
