1. CONTEST DESCRIPTION / Entry Period:
The “Kameo “Best Skins” contest (the "Contest") is a skill-based game in which participants are asked to create and submit an original design for alternate skins (a.k.a. costumes) for the video game character “Kameo” and / or one of her Elemental Warriors.
The Contest starts at 12:01 AM PT on, April 19, 2006 and ends at 11:59 PM PT on June 11, 2006 (“Entry Period”).
2. ELIGIBILITY:
The contest is open to video game enthusiasts who are 13 years or older at the time of entry. Void in Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Sudan and Syria and where prohibited by law. Employees of Microsoft, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and any contractors working directly on Microsoft programs, products and promotions , and the immediate family members of each are not eligible to participate.
3. HOW TO ENTER:
Createa full-color skin concept (aka costume) for the lead game character, “Kameo” and/or one of her Elemental Warriors. Information on the Kameo game itself can be viewed by visiting http://www.kameo.com.
Skins can be any digital format (hand-drawn or designed on a computer), but entries must be submitted electronically in the jpeg format, and not exist 1 MB in file size. Entries must be for either Kameo or one of the elemental warriors; no other character costumes will be eligible. Each entry must feature a front view of the character and include a brief description and character title (for example – “Manga Kameo”).
Entries must be submitted electronically to Kameo_Contest@Kameo.com. Please also include your first name and/or Gamertag.
Limit 1 entry per person and email address per character, for a total of 11 entries per person; 1 for Kameo, and 1 each of her elemental 10 warriors.
All creations submitted must be original, must not have been previously published, released or distributed and must be owned exclusively by the entrant submitting the creation. Microsoft disclaims any and all liability for any infringement of any entrant's rights in any submission caused by any third party.
Entries will be disqualified if they feature any content determined by Sponsor (in its sole discretion) to be vulgar, morally objectionable, or not appropriate for public display for any reason.
To be eligible for judging, online entries must be received no later than 11:59 PM PT on June 11, 2006 . All entries become the property of Microsoft and will not be acknowledged or returned.
4. WINNER SELECTION / WINNERS LIST:
Entries will be judged by a panel of Xbox team members based upon the following criteria:
Originality, creativity and artistic design: 70%
Feasibility; could the design realistically be applied in-game? 30%
If a qualified number of entries are received, a winner will be selected for each of the 11 characters. The judges' decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this contest. The winners will be notified by e-mail on or about June 19, 2006 and posted on Xbox.com on or around July 5, 2006. Microsoft reserves the right to not award a prize in any category if in the judges’ opinions none of the entries meet the minimum judging standards.
All submissions may be posted on a publicly accessible web site during and following the Contest. No responsibility is assumed by Microsoft for lost, late, misdirected, or illegible entries, or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur.
5. ENTRIES PROPERTY OF SPONSOR.
All Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. By submitting your Entry, you grant Sponsor and Administrators an irrevocable royalty-free, worldwide right, in all media (now known or later developed) to use, publish, alter or otherwise exploit your Entry. You hereby forever release the Sponsor and Administrators from any and all claims you might have in connection with their use and exhibit of your Entry as set forth above. You also agree to sign (your parent or legal guardian if you are a minor in your state, country or region) any necessary documentation to effectuate that license and release in order to claim a prize. If you do not want to grant Sponsor and Administrators the foregoing, please do not enter the Contest. Sponsor and Administrators are not obligated to use the Entry, even if it has been selected as a Winning entry.
6. PRIZES:
Winning entries have the potential to be made into actual in-game skins by Kameo game designers. Winners will also receive a special edition Kameo T-shirt (Estimated Retail Value, ERV, US $15.00), a Kameo Original Soundtrack (ERV, US $15.98), and a 1000 Xbox Live Marketplace Points card (estimated US $12.00. Exact value may vary based on winners’ country of residence).
No substitution or transfer of prize permitted, except by the sponsor who reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize is unavailable. Limit one prize per person, household and e-mail address. Taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
7. GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of Microsoft which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. This contest shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and participants in the Sweepstakes hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of Washington courts (state and federal) for any causes or controversies arising out of the Sweepstakes. Prize winners may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within seven (7) days following the date of attempted notification. Non compliance within this time period may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Return of any prize/ prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Entrants further grant to Microsoft the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print in any other media in connection with the Contest. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Microsoft to use winner's names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Microsoft, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Contest or any prize won.
8. INTERNET:
If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Microsoft which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Microsoft reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. In any such event, Microsoft, at its discretion, will select the winner from eligible non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such termination, suspension or cancellation. Microsoft assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Microsoft is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Microsoft on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
