Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire™

Walkthrough—Quidditch World Cup Campsite

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire™ is finally here, and an epic jaunt around Hogwarts, through the Forbidden Forest and beneath Black Lake beckons. As, for that matter, does an eventual showdown with the evil Voldemort himself.

But first, before thinking about things like the Triwizard Tournament (and saving the world) you've got to escape the Quidditch World Cup campsite -- under siege by Death Eaters as the tale opens—alive:

Starting out, pick a character (Harry, Ron and Hermione are all available). It doesn't matter whom you choose—each holds up equally well during this initial scenario.

The intro movie plays, wherein you're told to seek out the portkey and escape from the campsite, which is now aflame and buzzing with hostile activity. Press A to skip it if you'd like.

As soon as you've got control over the action, RUN. A glowing green bolt comes flying down towards the spot where you were just standing, exploding as it impacts with a pile of crates. Any characters in the immediate vicinity at the time it hits home will suffer damage.

Proceed to the right of the screen, following the path and collecting any beans that appear. Suddenly, following a short movie clip, a growling Dugbog arrives on the scene. Dispatch it by quickly pressing the A button, thereby firing Jinx spells at it until the creature is stunned and defeated.

Continue down the path. Two more Dugbogs show up. Defeat them using the same method as above.

Uh oh—looks like there's a huge boulder up ahead blocking your path. Thankfully, Arthur Weasley, Ron's father, arrives and explains you need to use your Wingardium Leviosa charm to lift it.

Get close to the boulder, then press and hold down the X button to activate the enchantment. Bear in mind, you'll have to hold the left joystick towards the boulder while doing so, otherwise the backlash of force from the spell will push you out of range.

Once your friends join in, the boulder will be levitating. Use the left joystick to move it so it's no longer barring the way forward.

Proceed onward down the road, collecting beans. You'll pass an area with smaller rocks strewn about (which can be hoisted and dropped on the Dugbog that appears to kill it or just hefted for practice). Beware of incoming spell attacks.

Continue in the direction you're headed, and you'll eventually come to a second boulder. Lift it the same way as before. Ron's dad tells you to keep moving.

Watch out—a tree falls, blocking your path. Press and hold X to cast Carpe Retractum and grab it. Pull the joystick to the right to clear the path.

When a second tree falls up ahead, repeat the process ... only this time, pull to the left. Then, following the third and final tree's tumble, do so once again, albeit this time pulling backwards and to the right.

Move along, and you'll come to another clearing. Trouble looms; you're surrounded by Dugbogs! Eliminate them as quickly as possible with Jinx spells. Remember: concentrate on finishing off stunned opponents. The sooner they're out of your hair, the better. If you find a friend in a sticky spot, or simply need to create an opening, you can use Wingardium Leviosa to toss a Dugbog out of the way.

Keep running. More Dugbogs appear. Toss them off the cliff or Jinx them until they cease to be a bother and move along. Another boulder waits—shove it to the side.

Jog along the trail, but watch out ... a rockslide will occur, tumbling down from the hill to the heroes' left and damaging anything in its path. Once past it, you'll come to a pile of stones, atop which a Death Eater stands.

Use Carpe Retractum—with the help of your associates, who'll need to join in--to pull the log which sits beneath the rocks out, thereby defeating the Death Eater and opening the way forward.

Cross the bridge that lies ahead, and listen to Arthur Weasley's comments. Once done, you'll find safety soon beckons. There, right in front of you—it's the portkey (you'll recognize it by the glowing boot icon). Run up and touch it to end the level and escape from the campsite.

Congratulations — you've completed your first mission and the end of level one!
