Official Rules

By entering the Xbox LIVE and Best Buy Play and Win Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes"), you agree to abide by these Official Rules and any other terms and conditions referenced in these Official Rules.
1. Eligibility
Open to legal residents of the 50 United States (includes the District of Columbia) who are 18 years of age or older and possess a legally valid driver's license at the time of entry. Employees of Microsoft Corporation ("Sponsor"), Best Buy Stores, LP ("Best Buy" or "Promotion Participant"), General Motors Corporation ("GM") and any person engaged to work on this promotional program and their respective affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and each of their immediate family members (including mother, father, sister, brother, child, husband or wife) and those living in their households are not eligible to enter or win.
2. Entry Period
This Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM Pacific Time (PT) on September 25, 2007, and ends at 11:59 PM PT on, September 27, 2007 ("Entry Period"). Entries must be received within the Entry Period to be eligible.
3. How to Participate
There are two (2) ways to enter: online or via US mail.
To enter online, you must have access to an Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system, the Halo® 3 video game, and an Xbox LIVE® membership in good standing. Once you have verified that you meet these system requirements, you must do all of the following:
a) Register for the Sweepstakes online at http://www.xbox.com/BestBuyReg before the close of the Entry Period on September 27, 2007, at 11:59 PM PT. (NOTE: You must register on this web site using the same Xbox LIVE gamertag that you will use to play Halo 3 multiplayer sessions on the Xbox LIVE service. Please be sure that your Xbox LIVE membership information including e-mail address, mailing address and phone is correct and current.)
b) During the Entry Period, log-on to the Xbox LIVE service on an Xbox 360 system and play a Halo 3 multiplayer session.
You will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes for each day during the Entry Period that you log into the Xbox LIVE service on an Xbox 360 system and play a Halo 3 multiplayer session. NOTE: For purposes of these Official Rules, a day starts at 12:01 a.m. PT and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT.
To enter by U.S. mail without registering online or playing the Halo 3 game, hand-print your first and last name, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number and e-mail address (if any) on a 3x5 piece of paper and mail to:

Limit one (1) entry per envelope. To be entered into the Sweepstakes, mail entries must be postmarked by September 28, 2007, and received no later than October 5, 2007.
Entry Limit: One (1) entry per person per day, for up to three (3) entries per person total, regardless of the entry method. Entries from the same individual or email address received in excess of the limits stated above will be automatically disqualified.
The use of automated devices to enter this Sweepstakes is prohibited. No responsibility is assumed by Microsoft for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, postage due or illegible entries or any computer, online telephone, or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of Microsoft and will not be returned.
4. Winner Selection /Prizes.
First Prize Drawing
On or around October 5, 2007, 144 winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Entry Period and via the U.S. mail entry method to win the First Prize, which consists of 8000 Microsoft® Points (Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") $100.00). Limit one (1) First Prize per person.
Grand Prize Drawing
All First Prize Winners will automatically receive one (1) entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. After the First Prize Drawing, two (2) winners will be selected in a random drawing from among the First Prize Drawing Winners to win one of the following prizes:
- One (1) 2007 Pontiac G6 GXP Street Edition (ARV $28,000).
Vehicle awarded may differ from any vehicle shown in promotional materials. Vehicle color, options and equipment will be determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Any other incidental expenses or options on prize not specified herein are not included and are sole responsibility of winner. Vehicle will be ordered and delivered via local dealership to winner, to be determined by Sponsor. All insurance, title, registration and license fees required for taking possession of the vehicle are the responsibility of the winner. Grand Prize winner will be required to present proper documentation including but not limited to a legally valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance which must be in good standing to claim prize, and must claim prize within thirty (30) days of being notified that it is available, or prize will be forfeited. - One (1) Samsung® home theatre entertainment system comprised of: one (1) Samsung 61" 1080p Slim-Depth LED Engine DLP HDTV (ARV $2,799.99); one (1) Samsung 5.1 channel 850 watt HTIB (ARV $599.99); and one (1) Samsung Upconvert DVD Player 1080P (ARV $99.99)(combined ARV of home theatre entertainment system $3,499.97).
ARV of all Sweepstakes prizes combined: $45,899.97.
All random drawings will be conducted under the supervision of Administrator, whose decisions are final. Best Buy and GM are not responsible for the collection, submission or processing of entries, the administration of the Sweepstakes, or the selection of winners. Odds of winning the First Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Odds of winning a prize in the Grand Prize drawing depend on the number of First Prize winners; estimated to be 1:144. Prizesare not redeemable for cash. No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event an offered prize is unavailable. Taxes on the prizes are solely the responsibility of the winner. Any and all guarantees and warranties for merchandise prizes are subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty or guarantee claim.
6. General Conditions
Sweepstakes entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Winner will be notified via the email and/or the telephone number provided at the time of entry within seven (7) days after the drawing date. Winner may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within seven (7) days following the date of attempted notification. Non-compliance within this time period may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Return of any prize / prize notification as undeliverable or failure to accept prize within the specified time period may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Entrants further grant to Sponsor the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print in any other media in connection with this Sweepstakes. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use winner's names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Microsoft, Best Buy, GM and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this Sweepstakes or the use or misuse of any prize won.
7. Internet
If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Sweepstakes. In any such event, Sponsor, at its discretion, will select the winner(s) from eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such termination, suspension or cancellation. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in connection with this Sweepstakes.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Entries made by Internet will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
8. Winners List
The names of the winners will be posted online on or around October 15, 2007, at http://www.xbox.com/winners, and will remain posted until November 30, 2007.
9. Sponsor/Promotion Participant
This Sponsor of this Sweepstakes is Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052. The Promotion Participant of this Sweepstakes is Best Buy Stores, LP, 7601 Penn Avenue South, Richfield, MN 55423.
10. Administrator
The Administrator of this Sweepstakes is Marden-Kane, Inc., 36 Maple Place, Manhasset, NY 11030.
