Yes, Bungie have been busy behind the scenes building a new and improved Bungie.net, loaded with features that make Xbox Live® an even deeper, richer gaming experience. We’re very excited—you should be, too. Stat Attack Everything you could want to know is just a mouse click away, from every shot fired to every medal earned. It’s all being logged right after each and every game you play. Impressive stuff, no doubt, but it doesn’t stop there. With the awe-inspiring Game Viewer, it all goes much, much deeper … But, before we go into the really clever stuff, you need to know how you can access it. Once you’ve got these in place, get to Bungie.net and have a tinker. Here’s just some of what you’ll find. Overview This is your top-level bread-and-butter battle stats. Check your experience ranking against each Playlist, from Rumble Pit to Big Team Challenge, to compare the number of games you’ve played and won. Click on each Playlist to see the top 1000 ranking players on Xbox Live. Games This shows you all the Halo® 2 games you’ve ever played online, including the date, time, map, and position finished. Click on the game name, and you’ll start drilling down into the real story behind the battle. It’s only when you start to peel away the layers that you'll work out who was really ruling the roost. From longest life and best average score to flag saves, assists, and grenade sticks, every detail of your gameplay is tracked here to show you who was best in a particular area. Combined, they tells a different story altogether. If you read them right, you’ll know who to team up with the next time around … Game Viewer Now that you know who the all-round sharp-shooters are, check out the revolutionary Game Viewer for things to get even more interesting. In the Games section, for every match played, there is a Game Viewer button in the header of the page. Click it, and you’ve just found your gaming utopia—you can see the maps from the games you just played, from any one of 15 angles! It’s a visual representation using icons to plot every frag on the field and even which weapon was used to perform the brutal act. Zoom right in and start collecting intel. This is cool for a number of reasons: - For all those times you’ve uttered the words “who the £%^& was that?” you can now find out who fired the shot, from where, and with what.
- In team games, like Capture the Flag, you can see which routes back to base appeared safest.
- You can learn from the actions of others; study their position, weapon. and trajectory; and then use it in your next game.
- You can e-mail the link straight to your mates—to rub their nose in it or plan a strategy for your next battle.
How cool is that? Halo 2 Friends View your Friends List online and keep an eye on fellow gamers that might be trying to log some extra hours of practice on Halo 2. Then, join then online and destroy them, of course. Clearly, Bungie are working very, very hard at creating something totally unique for Xbox Live members.
