WWE Superstar Kane Talks Video Games
At A Glance
- Wrestler and actor Kane is an avid Xbox 360 player.
Kane has been an Xbox® fan since the original console launched. The WWE Superstar, who has enjoyed a long and successful career in professional wrestling, both with and without a mask, is now hooked on Xbox 360™. Since he received an Xbox 360 for Christmas, he's been logging lots of hours playing video games.

Kane ranks his videogame role as the highlight of his career.
Xbox gamers can now get all the Kane they can handle via Xbox 360, as they can not only play as Kane in THQ's WWE® SmackDown® vs. RAW® 2007, but they can also download his Hollywood feature debut, the horror movie See No Evil from Lionsgate Entertainment, on Xbox Live Marketplace. The film is also now out on DVD. You can also look for the 7-foot, 300-pound Big Red Monster as part of WWE Friday Night Smackdown on the new CW.
The Big Red Monster
While Kane's persona both in the ring and in his movie debut is that of a hulking monster, in person he is an affable, easy-going guy. He spends a lot of his downtime outside of the ring playing video games.
"I was an Xbox guy and now I'm an Xbox 360 guy," said Kane. "I mostly play Xbox 360 now. I'm a fan of first-person shooters, that's mostly what I like. I've been playing a lot of Call of Duty® 3 and Gears of War®. I've only had it since Christmas, but I've been logging a lot of hours on it."
"Of all the highlights in my career, for me personally,
it was the first time I was in a videogame.
It was just really cool."
Kane has always been a fan of shooters, so Epic Game's recent triple platinum sci-fi shooter quickly became a favorite of his. "I think Gears of War is really cool," said Kane. "It's a third-person perspective, but then it sort of plays like a first-person game. It's different. And of course the graphics on Xbox 360 are just out of this world."
When he's not battling aliens, Kane is taking out the Nazis in Activision's hit WWII franchise. "Call of Duty 3 is really cool because you do other stuff besides running around with crosshairs," said Kane. "You drive the tanks and do all sorts of different things. The variety makes it cool."

Gamers can become the 7-foot tall giant in THQ's new game.
Man versus Machine
Kane spends his time on Xbox 360 playing against the artificial intelligence, but it's not because he doesn't savor real-life Xbox Live® competition.
"Right now, I live out in the boondocks and I have satellite broadband, which doesn't support Xbox Live because of the lag time," said Kane. "When Halo® 2 came out, before we moved out here, I was big time into playing Halo 2 online."
The wrestler joked that his online opponents probably wouldn't have been so free with trash talk if they knew who was actually on the other side of the Xbox Live Communicator.
No More Gaming at Work
As a lifelong gamer, Kane has enjoyed the success that he's had in professional wrestling, but it's interactive entertainment that makes his own personal highlight reel.

Kane also stars on WWE Friday Night SmackDown on The CW.
"Of all the highlights in my career, for me, personally, it was the first time I was in a videogame," said Kane. "It was just really cool. And now to see the WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2007 game with the graphics and the motion capture, it's stuff you take for granted. You can actually see individual muscles moving and stuff like that on Xbox 360. Sometimes it's actually a little eerie because they can capture all of that. It's amazing."
Once Kane gets a broadband connection that supports Xbox Live, you can bet he'll be back out there looking for competition. Keep that in the back of your mind the next time you berate an opponent, because it could just be a 7 foot-tall professional wrestler.
